Psalm 100:3 "Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves, we are His people and the sheep of His pasture."
This verse is specifically for today, July 8, 2009. The board of trustees at the International Mission Board vote on us today.
Today, we will know whether God desires for us to continue walking this path with Him in Uganda or elsewhere. God, You are in charge. Period. Whatever You have in store, I trust in You. But don't let me just trust in You today or sometimes, but always!
The above was part of my prayer journal this morning. Thank you to those of you who have been praying.

Here is the main street of my new hometown!
At 3:30 this afternoon, Doug called to say that he got a call from our Candidate Consultant saying that the board , too, for all of those who wished to go and were not allowed. The following paragraph was in a newsletter from a missionary in Africa who just returned from the Annual General Meeting in Nairobi, Kenya:
"We are very concerned to hear how the global economic crisis has impacted IMB. The short fall of last year’s Lottie Moon Christmas offering was about 29 million dollars short of the goal and 15 million dollars short of the minimum budget needs for 2010. This comes at a time when more than 900 new missionaries are ready for appointment in 2010 but there will only be budget to appoint about 300. This most clearly impact us as a team as we think about requesting new personnel to replace Evan, Trevor, Alissa and Kelli when they depart next year. Please PRAY about this situation and the financial needs to keep us on the field and bring others to work alongside us."
Please continue praying for the board as they make decisions. Pray for people to give to not only the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in December, but to give to the International Mission Board whenever they can and feel led. (There is a "Give" link on their website.) And lastly, pray for our family as we make a ton of decisions about crating, packing, buying, selling, and preparing. Many of you have asked how you can help us, and Doug is working on a list of things that we are going to have to buy. If you are interested, let us know, and you can pick and choose how you wish to help.
